Mechanical engineering encompasses mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, materials science, structural and manufacturing analyses.

Physics has always been at the forefront of exploration. The Physics department offers courses solidly based on the American system to meet international quality assurance requirements. The physics student body includes pure-physics and double-major students, reflecting the interdisciplinary nature of the program. Research facilities encompass condensed matter physics, lasers, materials research, magnetism, superconductivity, nuclear physics, and nonlinear and computational physics.
